Voices of Kalkeri
Quebec / 80min / 2005 / BetaCam SP
A young Quebec couple leave behind their Canadian way of life and found a school in a deprived village called Kalkeri in India to teach the kids their traditional music. With the music come the confidence and hope for a better future. However, their voluntary initiative is not shared by the people who own the land. A fight to keep the school open and keep the kids at school unfolds with no less of a suspense and tension that you would expect in a fiction.
Director will be present at screening.
