The Palestine Trilogy: Documentations in History, Land and Hope

movie_repfeature-1.jpg2006 / 75 Minutes / English, Arabic and Hebrew

Toronto based artist-film maker B.H. Yael will present the film herself and will moderate the post-film discussion. This event is in preparation for the Palestine theme of the Wednesday October 18th class of Activism Course, with presenter Samah Sabawi.

The three films depict activists, including Palestinians, Israelis and Internationals who have been forgotten by the main stream media, and are working together in attempt to address both the historical, and the current repercussions of Israeli’s colonial occupation. The films act as a window to the terror and pain of displacement, while examining the importance of developing relationships between Palestinians and Israelis.

trilogy.jpgThey oppose the dominant myths that defend Israel’s occupation of the land and lives of the Palestinian people, and demonstrate the tragic reality of displacement, of endless walls and constant surveillance. Yet, from the ashes of such despair the films point to mutual co-existence, the possibilities of a different reality and the potential for peace.
