IPPERWASH: A CANADIAN TRAGEDY

Film followed by discussion.

george.jpgDescribes the events around Dec. 6, 1995, when the unarmed Indian people of Stoney Point were attacked at Ipperwash Provincial Park by a heavily armed unit of the Ontario Provincial Police. This attack resulted in the killing of Dudley George, the only Aboriginal Canadian to be shot dead by Canadian police in a land claims dispute in the twentieth century.

Former Ontario Premier Mike Harris is scheduled to testify at the inquiry into these events starting February 14, 2006.
