The Indian journalist Raajkumar Keswani investigates the environmental tragedy of a pesticide production plant in Bhopal, India. The plant, called Union Carbide at the time, leaked poisonous gas in 1984, killing 15 000 people. Hundreds of thousands of others were permanently affected. 20 years later, despite multiple accusations for corruption and repression of environmental and medical investigation of the tragedy, the victims are still not adequately compensated. Mister Keswani introduces us to the scientists, doctors and activists that like him, are searching for justice.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion with an Indian environmental activist.
The event is organized in partnership with Cinema Politica and the Société environnementale de Côte-des-Neiges.
