A message from Cinema Politica filmmaker and supporter Franklin Lopez

A message from Cinema Politica filmmaker and supporter Franklin Lopez:

It’s been a crazy busy fall, but what’s new. I’ve been cranking out videos ‘cause it’s the only thing I know how to do. This year I made a short doc for Al Jazeera’s new channel AJ+, about a grassroots struggle I’ve been following for the past 4 years. The Unist’ot’en, a clan within the Wet’suet’en Nation have been blocking several oil and gas pipelines from entering their territory. The video has really resonated with folks and over 1.7 million people watched it on the first month since it was published. You can watch in on Facebook or YouTube.

fergusonI’ve recruited the help of two old friends, as well as three volunteers and we’ve been making episodes of “It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine” twice a month now. So if you haven’t been to stimulator.tv recently, you need to catch up. Here's our latest: Ferguson Redux

Also, this year marks the tenth year subMedia.tv has been producing Anarchist cinema, and we’ve compiled our best films on a DVD. Check out the trailer here. If you live in Montreal, come out to our celebration at L’Alize on December 18th at 7:30pm. More details here.

Finally, 2015 is gonna be busy as hell. We’re releasing a collaboration with CrimethInc. called “To Change Everything”, a series of shorts called “What are We Fighting For” and we begin pre-production on a long term feature film project with the working title of “¡Libertad!” that will tell the story of anarchy.

That’s it for now, hope you had a great 2014 here's to a revolutionary 2015!
