about cinema politica Nipissing University

This local is currently on hiatus. Please contact if you’d like more info on how to get involved.

The CP Nipissing local is run by the Nipissing Women’s Center here in North Bay. We are a student run group, committed to providing a welcoming, safe, and positive space on Nipissing University's campus. Through screening documentaries in association with Cinema Politica we hope to establish a heighten awareness of gendered inequality issues both on campus and within the community of North Bay. As such our films will highlight gender equality and social justice issues with priority going to women’s issues; helping us continue our active role in working towards attaining gender equality. Please feel free to come join us on the last Thursday of every month for free popcorn, a by-donation documentary screening and an interesting speaker lead discussion afterwards. We look forward to empowering you to join us in this exciting adventure!
