Sébastien Rist

Born in Montreal, Québec, Sébastien graduated from the communications studies program at Concordia University in Montreal. His 5 years of sprint canoeing competition at a national and international level have shaped his character, but his interests and passion today rest in film and video. The decision to stop competing and to invest himself in his film studies was a decisive moment for his career and since then Sébastien devotes himself entirely to film production. His last short film, This Little Piggy ( 2008 ) won the ‘Best Student Film’ at the World Film Festival in Montreal as well as the ‘People’s choice award’ at both the Young Cuts Film Festival and the Enroute Film Festival. Curious and passionate about current events and trends, he plans to focus his energy in documentary productions. In the winter of 2009, he set out to Bangladesh with his partner Aude Leroux-Lévesque to direct his first documentary. The documentary ‘Call me Salma’ shot in Bangladesh was produced by the french production company 'Upside Television'
