FPFS director Alethea Arnaquq-Baril and CP's Ezra Winton join a roundtable discussion sparked by OF THE NORTH

Tomorrow (Wednesday, March 16th) the FOFA Gallery at Concordia will host a very important roundtable inspired by the ongoing debate around the flim OF THE NORTH by Dominic Gagnon. Don’t miss hearing the director of CP’s First Peoples First Screens headliner TUNNIIT: RETRACING THE LINES OF INUIT TATTOOS, Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, join with Dr. Marie-Pier Boucher, Mathieu Grondin, Dr. Heather Igloliorte and Stephen Puskas speak on this important topic, while CP's Director of Programming Ezra Winton acts as moderator.

The event, entitled, Roundtable Discussion: Cultural Representation in the Media Arts, Ethics and Freedom of Expression, is sold out, but for those who didn't get a ticket and for those outside of Montreal, FOFA will be livestreaming the discussion! A link will be posted to the Youtube channel on FOFA's Facebook page today or tomorrow.

As a sneak preview, feel free to check out Alethea and Ezra’s critical conversation in ArtThreat about Gagnon’s film and its appearance at Montreal’s vaunted RIDM festival.

For programmers out there interested in Indigenous representation in the arts, we suggest that your CP local screens one of the FPFS clusters, perhaps even the cluster that not only contains Alethea’s film but also proudly bears the fittingly provocative response title, By The North.
