New CP Film on ROAR Magazine’s Channel: MASQUÉE

Cinema Politica’s free streaming series with ROAR Magazine continues with our newest offering: Maxime Faure’s MASQUÉE (Canada/France, 2014, 13’). This mysterious short celebrates the power of art to support social change by politicizing the urban landscape.

Fresh from its award-winning appearance at Montreal’s Cinema sous les étoiles last summer, MASQUÉE follows Zola, a Montreal-based street artist whose social-justice-themed works intersect with contemporary debates on immigration, labour protests, and more. Faure provides an intimate portrait of Zola, showcasing her art while carefully and creatively preserving her anonymity.
