Two great reviews of the very creepy CP documentary Silhouette City

Cinema Politica is a proud supporter of American independent documentary cinema, and so when a film like Silhouette City comes along, we are pretty damn happy. Silhouette City is not your standard documentary, eschewing as it does the off-the-shelf formulaic styles and trappings of the documentary form. Instead the filmmakers piece together a creepy and fascinating history of Christian cults held together by faith in God and in the end of the world, and connect these stories with current turbo-Capitalist Christian nationalist movements and ministries. The result is an amazing, dark, and entirely eery documentary about a powerful cultural and political force that is growing stronger by the day in the USA.

As Cinema Politica begins screening this amazing documentary throughout our network, we're delighted to share with you two excellent articles about the film. The first, The Christian Right wants America back for Jesus for their Salvation, is from Concordia University's student paper The Concordian, the second, Rightward Christian Crazies, from Montreal's culture and arts weekly, The Mirror.

Silhouette City begins its screening run in the Cinema Politica Network on Monday night at Concordia University.
