**Saturday, April 24 @ 2-10 PM***Woods Hole Firehouse This Saturday, we're happy to bring our first-ever Food, Farms & Films festival to the Firehouse (72 Water Street). This full-day event will get going with a farmer's market at 2 PM (rain or shine) downstairs, to be followed up with a series of food-related films from 4-10 PM. Local farmers will have salad greens, herbs, fresh cheese, eggs, and other early spring produce for sale. You'll also have the chance to check out a hydroponic system for growing plants year-round; handmade chicken coops (and real-live chickens!); and how to vermicompost (and a chance to win your own composter)--- demonstrated by local residents! Information about the Falmouth Farmer's Market, the Falmouth microfarming initiative, Buy Fresh Buy Local, and other community resources will be available. Musicians Ted Perry, Rusty Strange, and Mike Risch and friends will set the tone for a springtime hoe-down from 2-4 PM. Facepainting, yoga, and baked vegan delights are sure to please the whole family, so come on down!! The farmer's market is scheduled until 4, but may go as long as the peas are in the pod!
