GULABI GANG by Nishtha Jain (2012)

Cinema Politica Malmö kickstared the year, screening GULABI GANG.
Around 30 people came to Garaget in Malmö Wednesday evening and, as always, we enjoyed fika (coffee and cake) while watching the documentary.

After the screening we discussed women's rights, the act of resistance, and how the film differed from a Swedish context. Many interesting and important perspectives and thoughts were debated. At least we went home happy and satisfied after a joyful evening! We hope you did too!

WHAT IS UP?
// The administrators in Cinema Politica Malmö are few. In fact, we are only two people right now: Clara and Futur. While we enjoy the company of each other, we would love for more people to join Cinema Politica Malmö on the administrative side - so if you know anyone who might be interest, please let us know!
You can contact via facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CinemaPoliticaMalmo) or email (malmo [at] cinemapolitica [dot] org)

// Right now we are planning our October collaboration with Mellanrum:

We are screening OCT 8 6PM at Kollektor (Södra Förstadsgatan 21, Malmö).
The film we are screening is called EDIBLE CITY as part of Miljöforvaltningens initiativ “GO!Malmö: Green Options”. Before the screening August Nilsson from Glokala is giving a lecture regarding the new platform (stadsodlingmalmo.se). The focus will be urban gardening.

You can read more about the initiativ here:

// BUT do not forget that we are also screening BORN IN GAZA OCT 7 at Garaget as usual. That will be awesome as well.

So long, fellas!
