About the Film

Когато избухва сирийската революция, режимът на Башар Асад вижда в Ярмук убежище на бунтовниците и съпротивата и установява обсада от 2013 г. нататък. Постепенно лишен от храна, лекарства и електричество, Ярмук е откъснат от останалия свят.

Абдала Ал-Хатиб е роден в Ярмук и живее там до изгонването си от ДАЕШ през 2015 г. Между 2011 и 2015 г. той и приятелите му документират ежедневието на обсадените жители, които решават да посрещнат бомбардировките, изселването и глада с митинги, обучения, музика, любов и радост.

Стотици животи са безвъзвратно променени от войната и обсадата – от майката на Абдала, която се превръща в медицинска сестра, грижеща се за възрастните хора в лагера, до най-яростните активисти, чиято отдаденост на Палестина постепенно се подкопава от глада…

About the Director

Abdallah Al-Khatib

Abdallah Al-Khatib was born in 1989 in Yarmouk. He studied sociology at the University of Damascus. Before the revolution, he worked for the UN as coordinator of activities and volunteers. He created the humanitarian aid association Wataad, with several friends, which carried out dozens of projects in several regions of Syria, and in particular in Yarmouk. He participated in several documentary films relating the life of the Yarmouk camp, notably being one of the cameramen of 194. Us Children of the Camp which premiered at Visions du Réel in 2017. The German magazine Peace Green identified him as one of the 2014 “peacemakers”. In Sweden, he received the Per Anger Human Rights Award in 2016. Abdallah currently lives in Germany, where he was recently granted refugee status.
