Et c&rsquo;est ce qu&rsquo;ils ont fait. Le collectif qu&rsquo;ils ont form\u00e9 a accueilli plus de 200 cin\u00e9astes qui ont influenc\u00e9 le domaine du cin\u00e9ma documentaire pendant plus de cinq d\u00e9cennies, examinant et critiquant la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 travers l&rsquo;histoire de personnes r\u00e9elles.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Le collectif original s&rsquo;est dissous \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1970 et a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9organis\u00e9 en soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de production par Gordon Quinn et Jerry Blumenthal, qui ont poursuivi l&rsquo;h\u00e9ritage des fondateurs sous le nom de Kartemquin, un nom qui n\u00e9cessite souvent autant d&rsquo;explications que d&rsquo;aide \u00e0 la prononciation. Au milieu des ann\u00e9es 1990, l&rsquo;un des films les plus connus de Kartemquin, <a href=\"https:\/\/kartemquin.org\/film\/hoop-dreams\/\"><em>Hoop Dreams<\/em><\/a>a remport\u00e9 plusieurs prix importants et a marqu\u00e9 le d\u00e9but d&rsquo;une d\u00e9cennie de documentaires qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 salu\u00e9s par la critique et le public au niveau national et international, notamment <a href=\"https:\/\/kartemquin.org\/film\/grassroots-chicago\/\"><em>Grassroots Chicago<\/em> <\/a>et <a href=\"https:\/\/kartemquin.org\/film\/vietnam-long-time-coming\/\"><em>Vietnam Long Time Coming<\/em><\/a>. Les ann\u00e9es 2010 ont port\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cran d&rsquo;autres \u0153uvres notables, dont <a href=\"https:\/\/kartemquin.org\/film\/the-interrupters\/\"><em>Les Interrupteurs<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/kartemquin.org\/film\/the-trials-of-muhammad-ali\/\"><em>Les proc\u00e8s de Muhammad Ali<\/em><\/a>et <a href=\"https:\/\/kartemquin.org\/film\/raising-bertie\/\">Raising Bertie<\/a>, ainsi qu&rsquo;un engagement renforc\u00e9 \u00e0 soutenir la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de talents. En 2013, le mod\u00e8le de cohorte pour <a href=\"https:\/\/kartemquin.org\/program\/diverse-voices-in-docs\/\">Diverse Voices in Documentary<\/a> a vu le jour afin de soutenir les cin\u00e9astes historiquement sous-repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s.   <\/p>\n\n<p>Avec quatre nominations aux Academy Awards, six Emmy Awards et quatre Peabody Awards, Kartemquin a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crit par le Chicago Reader comme une \u00ab\u00a0centrale documentaire\u00a0\u00bb, mais c&rsquo;est la reconnaissance de services exceptionnels \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 cin\u00e9matographique et des prix tels que le Altgeld Freedom of Speech Award pour avoir \u00ab\u00a0tendu sans rel\u00e2che un miroir \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine\u00a0\u00bb qui refl\u00e8tent notre objectif le plus profond.
