Le d\u00e9cor riche et resplendissant de verts et d&rsquo;oranges, captur\u00e9s par la cin\u00e9matographie luxuriante des collines c\u00f4ti\u00e8res, des plages foresti\u00e8res et des communaut\u00e9s, d\u00e9ment les troubles des personnages qui vivent dans ces terres de la c\u00f4te est. Mauri, qui signifie la force vitale, examine les tensions culturelles et politiques entre les personnages en qu\u00eate d&rsquo;identit\u00e9, d&rsquo;amour et de sentiment d&rsquo;appartenance. Mita, cit\u00e9e dans le livre de Deborah Shepard, Reframing Women (2000), avait cela \u00e0 dire: \u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;\u00e9tait un moment de satisfaction silencieuse, que d&rsquo;entrer dans le cin\u00e9ma lors de la soir\u00e9e d&rsquo;ouverture de Mauri, et de voir la fiert\u00e9 dans tant de visages bruns.
