Intimate and multilayered, the film tells a very tragic, but also beautiful story of a&nbsp;man trying to find love and a place where he belongs.\u201cYou know you\u2019ve screwed up in life when you can rate every prison in Canada&nbsp;on a five star basis.\u201dFirst Nations Chris Hoard has spent half of his life behind bars. But now, the&nbsp;charismatic and streetwise ex-convict wants to \u2018do the right thing\u2019, as they say.Leave it all behind \u2013 the crime, the addictions, and the lies.Abandoned and abused by the people who were supposed to love and protect&nbsp;him, Chris was traumatized from the day he was born. He became timid and&nbsp;lonely, unsure of people&rsquo;s intentions. It is not a surprise that he&rsquo;s been diagnosed&nbsp;with Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD).People with this label often end up in prison and most likely they will stay there.&nbsp;47 percent of male inmates in Canada suffer from ASPD. So it\u2019s a bit of a miracle&nbsp;that Chris manages to break through the vicious cycle. Highly intelligent and&nbsp;determined, he quits drinking and using, and decides to use the business skills&nbsp;he acquired as a drug dealer to start an all-Native company, totally legal, to do&nbsp;renovations and construction, with the intent of beautifying his impoverished&nbsp;neighbourhood in downtown Edmonton\/Alberta.Filmed over the course of three years, Chris stumbles from one adventure to the next, facing everything from racism to disaster to simple chaos. Life ain\u2019t easy when you\u2019re poor. It\u2019s even more complicated when you are Aboriginal.This intimate, character-driven reality drama chronicles the trials and triumphs&nbsp;Chris is facing in his endeavors of finding jobs and making his all-native\/exconvict&nbsp;construction company a success story. It doesn\u2019t last long. The trauma of&nbsp;his childhood catches up with him. Soon he is caught in a self-destructive cycle of&nbsp;anger and alienation.
