Danforth Cinema Politica

About Cinema Politica Toronto Danforth

Welcome to Cinema Politica Danforth -- a project of the Toronto Danforth NDP Riding Association.

We hope to bring our community together for a progressive film series that provokes discussion about issues of social and environmental justice.

We plan to show a mix of documentaries and dramas so that our series is both entertaining and politically engaged. We also want it to reflect the diversity of our riding.

We aim to create a comfortable and friendly atmosphere where people from all backgrounds can come to share, learn, discuss and, if so inclined, organize or take action on the issue.

Our screenings are normally on the first Thursday of every month. Each screening is followed by a discussion.

The film makers or other speakers may be invited to lead the discussion, and we'll try to have materials available that offer further information and avenues for action on the issue.

The films are free and so is the popcorn! Donations are encouraged to cover screening costs. Any remaining funds will be contributed to the struggle for social change.

(Click on the movie title link for a synopsis of the film, a sneak preview trailer, and information about possible speakers.)

Come out, bring your friends, and let Cinema Politica inspire the activist in you!
