about cinema politica Peace River

After five seasons of bringing independent films to the Peace Region, Cinema Politica Peace River organizers have decided to take a year hiatus.  We will miss the thoughtful and lively discussions surrounding the broad range of social issues covered in the films we've screened over the years.
Our group is in need of additional volunteers to help with scheduling, promotion and hosting of film screenings.  If interested please do contact us by email at peaceriver [at] cinemapolitica [dot] org.

Cinema Politica Peace River is excited to announce that we will be screening two films a month starting February 2009. The intent is to facilitate access to documentaries that are often difficult for people in the region to access. We want to catalyze discussion and generate the exchange of ideas surrounding social, environmental, economic and cultural issues.

Donations are encouraged but no one is turned away. All funds will go toward screening costs as well as local organizing efforts committed to social change.

The films will be screened Monday evenings at the Ground Level Youth Centre aka. The House by the Bridge. Discussion to follow. Everyone is welcome!
