“Sabren” is a Sudanese short film by Eythar Gubara, which focuses on the struggles of Sudanese revolutionaries after the October 2021 coup and was filmed before the devastating war began in 2023. It translates to “patience” in Sudanese Arabic and showcases the resilience and artistic spirit of a generation of youth fighting for a democratic future through creativity and resistance

Director Eythar Gubar, whose film Sabren captures the resilience of Sudanese protesters in the aftermath of the 2021 coup, blending frontline footage with personal reflection.

Eythar Gubara, is a Sudanese freelance photographer and activist for human rights. She is mainly known for her documentary images of everyday life in Sudan and of events during the Sudanese Revolution. In her work, she has placed a special focus on images of women, as well as on social diversity in Sudan
