CP Films at Monsoon Fest 2025

The Monsoon Festival, organized by Brique par Brique, is an annual event showcasing the many talents and solidarities between the residents of Parc-Extension, one of Canada’s most diverse neighborhoods. This year’s program will feature three screenings of diasporic short films, including two Cinema Politica classics: Iara Lee’s THE KALASHA AND THE CRESCENT (2013), a study of Kalash cultural resilience in Northern Pakistan, and Paramita Nath’s DURGA (2012), a poetic depiction of one of the largest religious festivals in India.

This year’s screenings will take place at 663 Av. Beaumont on Tuesday, June 24 in three blocks at 13:00, 15:00, and 17:00. The event is free, but you can register here.

Monsoon Festival is an intergenerational day of interactive, participatory, and artistic activities, aimed at celebrating diversity and promoting living together in Quebec. Multidisciplinary, it is designed to promote positive interactions between neighborhood residents, Greater Montrealers, and members of various ethno-cultural communities. This community event is part of an effort to strengthen the social fabric and promote intercultural cohesion in Parc-Extension and beyond.
