Fairy Creek Tours Across Nova Scotia This Fall

Forest defenders marching through a clear-cut logging site during the Fairy Creek protests

Montreal. Monday, October 6, 2025 – Cinema Politica is proud to announce that award-winning documentary feature FAIRY CREEK will open in theatres and venues across Nova Scotia. From October 23 to 29, the film will premiere in six cities across the province – Halifax, Wolfville, Annapolis Royal, Inverness, Tatamagouche, and Chester. Director Jen Muranetz and Executive Producer Neal Livingston will be in attendance at all events for post-screening discussions. This tour is co-presented with the Margaree Environmental Association, Save Our Old Forests, Friends of Halifax Common, St. Margaret’s Bay Stewardship Association, and Small Change Fund.

The film had its world premiere at Planet in Focus Film Festival in Toronto, where it won the Best Canadian Feature Award, and its US premiere at the prestigious Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in Montana, with subsequent sold-out screenings at the Whistler Film Festival and the Victoria Film Festival. Following this festival success, FAIRY CREEK opened theatrically in Canada on June 6 across British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, Quebec and Ontario.

“At its core, FAIRY CREEK is a study of activist culture, diving into the intricacies and tensions that arise in the high-stakes environment of a frontline protest. My hope is that audiences leave the film reflecting on their own positionality, beliefs, and relationship to activism and land defense ”

— Jen Muranetz
